Where players go when they want a new main

Every day, people land on our cross-game tool asking the same thing: I main this character, who do I play in that game? Over 30 days that added up to 18,383 lookups from 7,224 players, which turns out to be a decent map of who is shopping for a new main, and where they are looking.

How this was measured

The numbers come from our own cross-game character tool between July 1 to July 31, 2026. When someone opens a page for a character in one game to see their closest match in another, that is one lookup. Players are counted once per route per 30 day window, using a salted hash of the visiting IP address, so nobody is identified and repeat visits from the same person are not double counted.

What this measures is interest, not installs. Nothing here says a player left one game for another. It says they were curious enough to look up who they would play if they did, which is the moment before a switch rather than the switch itself. Routes with fewer than 50 players in the window are left out because small numbers move around too much to mean anything. Traffic is a mix of search, direct visits and links, so games with bigger search demand appear larger here for the same reason they do everywhere else on the internet.

Feel free to use these numbers with a link back to this page. Questions or a request for a cut of the data: get in touch.
